Autopsy results show that the dugong was beheaded after being cut with a sharp object.

Today (15 November 2014), Mr. Pinsak Suraswadi, Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), gave an interview to Thai PBS Online stating that from the inspection, it was found to be a male dugong, fully grown, with a body length of 2.23 meters, not including the head, and a weight of approximately 250 kg. The carcass was very decomposed and the body was completely thin.
